"BREATHE" PILLOWS. Marian McNair makes the most beautiful, custom made, hand painted pillows and bolsters to enhance your meditation and yoga practice. Each pillow is made to order, in colors of your choice, and may be purchased as a set of three, or individually.
The Bolster measures 26" x 13" x 10"; the Sitting pillow is 16" x 8" x 4.5", and the Neck pillow is 16" x 4.5" x 4".
The pillows are made from cotton fabric, with polyfill stuffing.
COLORS. Color choices are completely up to you! The price is the same no matter what color scheme you select, because Marian hand-makes every pillow to order.
You can pick from the colors you see in our photographs, both here and on our store pages.
Or you can request a color grouping, and/or specify a dominant color.
If you're familiar with Ayurveda, you could choose your colors based on Ayurvedic color therapy, to balance your Dosha (Vata, Pitta or Kapha). Warm colors, which are heating and energizing, are Reds/Oranges/Yellows; Cool colors, which are calming and slow the metabolism and heart rate, are Blues/Greens/Purples.
You can also make a special request for colors that may not be shown here.
Color Therapy in Ayurveda: The colors are those of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, yellow-green, blue, and violet. In some cases Indigo is used instead of Yellow-Green (we've included both). We've
provided some brief guidance below, but there's a lot
more detailed information available online if you search for "Ayurvedic
color therapy".Red relates to blood and heat. It promotes good circulation, and has warming and healing energy.
Orange, like red, is warming and healing. Orange promotes pleasure, enthus
iasm and sexual stimulation, improves congestion problems and dull skin, and is thought to improve digestive disorders.Yellow is associated with the crown of the head. It stimulates wisdom and clarity. Yellow may also have antibacterial properties.
Green is connected to the heart. It brings balance and is calming and soothing. It is also thought to have antibacterial and antiseptic properties.
Yellow-green vibrational energy has the color therapy healing properties of yellow and green.
Indigo is calming, and said to promote intuition. It may also control bleeding.
Blue stimulates consciousness. It is calming and cooling for the body and mind. Blue energy can be used to heal skin pigmentation problems and liver disorders.
Violet vibrational energy brings enlightenment and spiritual awakening. It is also soothing and calming to the nervous system and relaxes the muscles.
